Carers Careline was born in March 1988 when it became obvious that there were those in the town who encountered difficulties when they needed to go out but, at the same time, needed reassurance that a loved-one they cared for would be safe.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
At the time, the Redditch Council for Voluntary Service, who had received these requests for help, set up a separate part of the organisation to provide a sitting service for carers. Initially, there were only 2/3 members of staff providing sitters but requests for the service grew so quickly that other people had to be recruited to help. A Co-ordinator was employed and the people of Redditch responded with their usual generosity and volunteers were taken on.

Since June 2008 Carers Careline has operated all it's services for carers under the name of Redditch Carer's Support to re-inforce the local nature of it's work.

Our volunteers are very special people – they are kind, compassionate, reliable and caring and happy to give their time freely and without payment except for travel expenses incurred on their visits.

Over the years Carers Careline services have expanded and in addition to the sitting service we now provide for carers registered with us monthly support groups, social events, telephone support, a drop in facilty and bereavement support on the loss of a loved-one.

Today, after many years of service to the Redditch community, Carers Careline is justifiably proud of its past record and, subject to funding being available, hopes to continue in the same vein for some time to come.
